Establishing market share is more important than student learning, after all.
10 years from now we'll have people looking back with studies on how pushing AI onto students reduced (or didn't reduce ) their learning. Maybe some quasi-experimental studies based on which students got free access and which didn't.

hmmm.. i also have a .gov address I wonder if I can get in on those $1 OpenAI/Anthropic deals...
