Did you know?
Half dog, half golden jackal. These dogs are used by a Russian airport to detect various explosives.
In 1975, Russian scientists crossed Siberian huskies with golden jackals. The breed's namesake, Klim Sulimov, bred hybrids for the Russian airline Aeroflot, whose sense of smell is much more refined than that of a dog, which already has a great sense of smell
They only started being used to detect bombs in 2002, and from 2022 they will also be used to sniff out coronavirus infections at Sheremetyevo Airport near Moscow.
