Damus is the Netscape equivalent in the analogy. While it's pretty early and definitely a bit tricky to use compared to Twitter, it's good enough that almost anyone who knows how to use Twitter could figure this out if sufficiently motivated.
As progress is made on the Damus UX (and others) I suspect it will be accessible to just about anyone.
As @k00b suggests... Netscape in 1994 was nothing like Netscape in 1999 or the Safari/Chrome clients of today, but I think with Damus we've crossed the threshold of "good enough" that anyone could use Nostr even if they are not deeply technical.
