They never earned my faith in the first place. Their whole business model is based on screwing you over for using a free service.
People finance these things in order to create a honeypot.

last pass is a shell of a company from what it was when it was founded by joe segrist many years ago. i was involved in a private equity evaluation of it and we ended up walking away from the deal because it had become obvious that it is a "lifestyle business" (stable revenue but no growth) but was trying hard to be a growth company and cutting many corners to do so.
the founder however is a very smart guy. here is a great interview with him https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=p7-osq_y8i8

I don't know why, but a two year or so ago or so, I decided tout of the blue too move away from Lastpass. I deleted all my info and closed my account. Best decision I've ever made.

I switched when they wanted me to pay for android: https://blog.lastpass.com/2021/02/changes-to-lastpass-free/
Felt like vendor lock-in, lol. Their export capability was and stills seems to be buggy: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=34115131
I think I even read where the export was hidden using HTML. Lmao, can't get more shadier than that.
