Dear BitcoinHackers.org members, I plan on winding this instance down in the coming months as Nostr matures.
There will be plenty of warnings and time. But please look into Nostr and/or alternative instances.

And don't say I can migrate to some other instance. That only helps when the old instance remains operational.
Can I easily transfer my previous posts (Toots, they call them) to another instance? NO.
And this is just one complaint. I've shared other reasons in my reply to this post here on SN;
Mastodon saw record number of downloads after Musk’s Twitter takeover#87933
I sincerely apologies to those who I've persuaded to join the Fediverse / Mastodon / Pleroma. I wanted to see something used for social media other than Twitter (which had suspended my account numerous times) and I though Mastodon was much better.
In general, Mastodon is old, pre-crypto, technology. IIUC the only signing they do is buried deep under the hood, and only for post authentication in a fairly limited way.
That's not to say nostr is better mind you. But it's no surprise that a lot of things suck about Mastodon for basically the same reasons they suck on Twitter.
Here's the content of that post:

Sue me.

It also takes a shedload of RAM which means it's not cheap to host
