Happy to share a massive Bitcoin Calendar website update!

PWA now available for Android devices too

You can now save Bitcoin Calendar to your homescreen and enjoy it just like a native app (the same way Stacker News can be enjoyed). You get:
  • More screen real estate
  • Easy access from home screen
  • Offline mode
  • Upcoming app-specific improvements, like push notifications

Event zaps

A new "zap" button is now available on every event header allowing you to zap an event in a few clicks. I also automated attached comments to reflect the zapped event title.
Planning to track these to figure out which events are most interesting for the readers to research them deeper and provide more detailed info on the most zapped events.
Invoice generation achieved thanks to Lightning Invoice generator service.
Source code can be found here.

Refactoring

Did a major refactoring of the website. It is now snappier and more respectful towards your devices' CPU and battery.
Enjoy the app and let me know what you think.
Bitcoin’s timechain is timeless — its history should be too.
Web app’s source code will be open a bit later — need to brush up on a few things.

This is pretty awesome! I'm going to use the dickens out of it. I was looking through your roadmap and it's exciting to see what your building.
Do you think you will ever include current events, like bitdevs meetups? Or is the mission to keep it focused on historical events?

Happy to hear you find it useful (or at least entertaining).
I’ve certainly thought of displaying upcoming events, but I don’t think I’ll be able to implement it any time soon. I’m crazy about history, so I want to finish that part first.
That said, many people are more interested in preset and future, and I want this app to serve the community. So yes, will think of a decent way to frame this and probably add it to the roadmap too. 2026 is gonna be exciting.
