How does Bitchat tap into Nostr?
reply
The Bluetooth now works only when offline. If the app detects an internet connection, it uses nostr to send out messages, not only to your starred contacts but to anyone that is using it. Not sure which NIP(s) it is using to enable this functionality.
Ideally will be nice to switch it off... I much prefer it on a bluethoot-only setup.
These are some tools to watch out others online bitch(es)ats... I mean... good by privacy. You better watch out what you write, maybe someone join the conv.
Here the world view #1090319 it allows you to see conversations on a map. Not sure how it is tracking devise location. No settings to deactivate location access.

I didn't know about that change. I get the benefits, but there should be a way to turn it off. All that's missing now is a wallet and zaps! Ahah

Apparently there will be a setting to use it only with bluetooth, finger cross!
You said wallet? Calle already implemented CASHU, obviously! Ahah ecash flying via bluetooth soon

I have a little doubt. 🤔 If it works by Bluetooth, how could I communicate with people from other countries without the Internet? It is not possible, correct? I can only connect with Bluetooth with really close devices that have the app. Or is there something that one is not understanding? I appreciate any explanation. greetings

Yes you're right, but the issue is that there's no option to switch nostr off.

This is how we win! Dont fight the shitcoin they will always be around. Just make sure you have the best tech and use it without their knowledge!

I agree, is not a war, it's indeed a really funny game. Now they are using nostr without knowing, soon they will use bitcoin without knowing... some probably already are.
