This week we head to McKee Peak via McKee Road. The trail is located in Abbotsford, BC. We hiked this trail back in May, 2021. We parked on the side of the road next to a golf course and headed towards the trailhead. The trail is a 5.6km out-and-back trail with about 260m elevation gain. The trail was wide, well maintained, and ascended gradually. It was a mix use trail for both hiking and mountain biking. The peak is located on a grass field and when we reached the top, we were able to see views of Abbotsford. We also ran into a couple mountain bikers at the peak. I carried my little one to the peak, but on the way back down, he started running downhill and reached the bottom all by himself. He was 3 years old at the time and did a great job completing the down hike by himself.
Trail was wide and well maintained.
Saw some views through the trees. I believe the high peak in the background is Mount Baker.
Continuing up on trail.
Signs for mountain bikers indicating biking trail names.
We were nearing the peak located on this grass field.
Wild flowers were growing on the grass field at the peak.
Views at the peak.
More views at the peak.
A couple mountain bikers reached the top.
My little guy was walking by himself on the down hike.

Nice. Is this a ski hill?
reply
No, the elevation is too low for it to be a ski hill. It gets little to no accumulation during winter, because Vancouver winters are a joke compared to the rest of the country.
reply
Kind of reminded me of a couple smaller ski hills we have in southern ontario that are nice for hiking in the summer.
reply
You guys get much more snow in winter, so I guess small hills can be turned into ski hills. And if you ski, you've got to check out Whistler during ski season.
reply
I have been to Whistler but only in the summer. I am not much of a skier. I live 10 minutes drive from a ski hill and I don't ski and I live a 5 minute walk to a golf course and I don't golf. Go figure.
