The subject line's a bit misleading, as it's actually the overzealous DMCA notices filed on behalf of them, and the company that does it (Takedowns.AI) refuses to take responsibility for sending notices to an entire search page of results, leading to crap like this:
One of the worst mistakes I saw was a takedown request filed on behalf of a creator who goes by “honeyybee” against an article about actual honey bees on the University of Missouri’s website. The takedown request clearly targeted the article and caused Google to remove it from search results just because it was about a subject with a similar name to that of Takedown AI’s client.
Other companies seem at least a bit more ethical (whitelisting news and information sites to avoid exactly this sort of thing). But yeah, if there was somehow any doubt that Google is getting worse (and I feel like at least most of us already avoid it), this is a good reminder.
