This question came up for the preliminary examination of Raffles Institution, arguably the best high school in Singapore and a strong supplier of students to Ivy League colleges around the world.
General Paper requires these young minds to pen an argumentative essay, which expresses pains why the above question was asked.
I guess if I were to attempt this question, I would write something about how museums offer a vital community space for people to come together, especially so in this age of digitalization where Work From Home is not uncommon.
My following argument won’t hold much weight in an exam where critical thinking is prized. But as a parent, I’m so grateful to these museums which provide free and interactive spaces for my children to run amok. Otherwise, I don’t know where else to take them in land-scarce Singapore lol
They shouldn't fade out but rather be digitalized to capture the interest of the younger generation.
