We, Real Betis, start our road to Istambul tonight. Perhaps, it’s a bit of a dream that we could end up the year in another final, but dreaming is free.
Our first match is against Nottigham Forest, an English team that had a big success towards the end of 70s, when they won the Premier League and the equivalent to Champions League twice in 1979 and 1980. We will receive them with some problems in defense: our two starters centre back are injured and the right back is with fever, so most likely will miss out the match. Our top player, Isco, is recovering from a fracture he suffered in August.
Having said that, our recent signing , Antony from Man United, is avalaible. Also Lo Celso, Abde and Fornals. Our coach loves changing players from one match to another so, some of them will start from the bench and some unusual players may start.
Last weekend, I had the opportunity to watch Nottingham Forest against Burnley, which it ended up in a draw (1-1). Their right side is going to be a pain for our defense, with Ndoye and Bakwa. They are really fast and skilled. Also, Douglas Luiz was a reference in the midfield. In addition, their coach was training Celtic Glasgow 4 years ago when we played against the Scottish side. He likes box to box matches, very open and uncertain result. We won the match at home (4-3) and lost away (3-2).
They have spent 240M€ this summer transfer window. Real Betis only 60M€.
It looks a promising match. I hope we win it.
Also tonight, the other match selected for our bounty is Nice vs Roma. Italians have started well, after winning 3 matches and only 1 lost. They are 4th in the table. Meanwhile, Nice is in the middle of the table after losing 3 matches and winning just 2.
The rest of the matchs are:
- PAOK (GRE) vs Maccabi Tel-Aviv (ISR)
- Mydtjylland (DEN)vs Sturm Graz (AUT)
- Dinamo Zagreb (CRO) vs Fenerbahçe (TUR)
- Braga (POR) vs Feyenoord (NED)
- Red Star (SRB) vs Celtic (SCO)
- Freiburg (GER) vs Basel (SWI)
- Malmö (SWE) vs Ludogorets (HUN)
I am sure that most of them are quite familiar for all of you. Enjoy a great night of football!
