As I said in #1014261, I am a fan of these various "attack" mods for Bitcoin nodes.
It seems we have yet another way to weaponize your bitcoin node for the wagers of war to play with. In addition to
  • Libre Relay: relay pretty much everything, prioritize connections to other nodes that do the same.
  • Garbage man: pretend to be a Libre Relay node, but actually doesn't relay "spammy" txs.
This Ban Knots script seems to be an upgraded version of AeonBTC's Knots Banlist.
Whatever can be done by people on either side of the Knots vs Core debate, can be done by a state attacker. It is a good thing that Bitcoin nodes are getting to experience a somewhat adversarial environment.

Why settle for lesser evil, run Cthulhu Node!
  • Knots, but with params bitcoind -corepolicy=1 -datacarriersize=100000
  • make the node pretend it's actually Libre Relay

Best thing is to be very slow on upgrades and use old version
