Plurality in all the things. I like when variety exists. It makes it easier to appreciate things when there's something to contrast it with.

I worry the internet is degrading this quality in humanity. There are still very many odd little corners of the internet where weird mutations of the human spirit can find their niche, but on the whole it feels like it has been a strongly homogenizing force.

Hard to say for sure if that's the case. Wasn't society more homogenized back when everyone tuned into the same shows? Now I can find content for all sorts of niche interests on the internet.

I'd bet the percentage of society that watched TV in the 90s (peak TV) was quite a bit smaller than the percent that regularly accesses the internet.
Also internet is global, while network TV was national.
