Grade : C

Time to complete: 14 hours

Final Boss: Chaos

My Thoughts:

Considering this game hit consoles during the dawn of home gaming, this game was okay.
The story was quite average and mostly forgettable. The combat system seemed random, with elements like determining who goes first and buying spells to gain magic. Occasionally, I faced challenges, but if you battle and grind through the dungeons, you usually have enough experience to defeat the dungeon boss. Since I had limited time, I activated the experience and Gil 4x buffs about 10 hours into the game.
I would have given this game a solid B if the following things didn’t take place
  • Got stuck had no idea where to find the skys ship. Used AI to find out after I got a certain artifact had to go to a random patch of sand raise it up
  • Got stuck again looking for the Rosetta Stone and the Oyate (oxygen) had to use YouTube to find the random patch of sand to enter the caravan to buy the farie.
A strong shoutout to those gamers who beat this back in the day! Chaos was hard even with all the buffs! I cant imagine all the grinding one would have had to do to beat him.
On to Final Fantasy II

Phantasy Star is great. I like final fantasy too but couldn't really get into the new ones.
