does alby hub provide some sort of automatic fee updating to encourage traffic ? like lightning terminal
I don't think so. Until very recently, they discouraged people from using their Alby Hubs for routing.
I suspect they'll offer something like that soon though.

im a big fan of the LDK lightnode...I love that it comes with a on-chain 12 word seed phrase so you can use it for lots of things (obviously I only have some spending money in that wallet). similar to how one could use electrum wallet for opening lightning channels but instead using the LDK lightnode on my start9...lightning node is on all the time.

I'm sure there are better setups for this.
I basically defaulted into Alby Hub when they transitioned everyone away from GetAlby and so much of my online stuff was connected to that.

Coinos is good.

i want control of my keys

Yes, do that for your L1 sats for sure but with LN, not so much is at stake.
The convenience and very low fees of Coinos are hard to beat.

it is true, however i have 3 small balanced private channels on my albyhub lightnode, fees are basically zero for sends, and i can receive no problem. So, with a little work up front there is no need to give up my keys.

Can fully understand as a hobbyist you wanting to operate everything to that degree of self custody purity but really the cost benefit ratio is debatable. For most people coinos will be more cost effective. I have seen some fee/cost structures where the entire average float of sats I hold on LN would be guaranteed consumed with a few years. I support coinos as it is a unique wallet enabling anyone easy, low cost access to LN MoE. By pooling sats on coinos very good liquidity and cost benefit is achieved.
