The image is the headline of a tabloid here in Peru. I don't read the press...
I prefer to read a good article in Spanish.
But given the large number of Venezuelans who have settled in this country, they weren't going to stop publishing this...
MarĂa Corina Machado has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
For those who are unfamiliar with the subject or somehow believe in the merit of an award like this, I want to tell you that this woman neither deserves nor is worthy of any award. With my words, I'm going to sound like a resentful and spiteful migrant!
But seeing this makes me sick to see and know how this woman has mocked for years the hope and faith of hundreds of Venezuelans trapped and suffering in that country, not to mention the millions of people who have fled to other countries seeking a better future for their families!! This woman is a paid opposition to the murderous Chavista regime, currently represented mainly by an illiterate donkey named Nicolás Maduro!!
Every time there are presidential elections in that country, she appears to supposedly be or act as an opposition candidate, and obviously, Chavistas always win!!
Dictatorships don't end smoothly. Throughout history, it's been proven that dictatorships end with fire, death, and blood!
Unfortunately, almost 30 years have passed, and that country is on its way to fulfilling the same fate as Cuba, and even more so if these trashy characters continue to emerge and play with the dreams of the inhabitants of that beautiful country in northern South America!
I sometimes wonder why there are so many meaningless recognitions like this in the world!!
It's an award that's gone to Abiy Ahmed Ali, Yasser Arafat, Henry Kissinger, Teddy Roosevelt, and Barack Obama, none of whom deserved it (and some of whom actively did the opposite of "peace" at every turn). It's never meant anything more than the Oscars or any other awards do.

Your opinion is valid... and I think my perspective is more personal, considering the place or country where I was born. It bothers me that they have somehow awarded a person whose actions have endorsed, in the eyes of international opinion, fraudulent and totally flawed elections, and in the middle of them, the lives and feelings of millions of people!
