My experience is that with most types of work especially building it is difficult at first if you have limited experience but as time goes on you gain a lot of skill and results improve. When doing this type of work I often relax in the evening and think through how i can solve a problem or do something better- it can be hugely satisfying work as you are in direct control of all aspects of it. The project you are undertaking is inherently difficult - working mostly from local materials can be hugely challenging - but in the process you inevitably become more and more aware of and knowledgeable about the local environment and materials. I have done similar offgrid offroad homesteading construction over the years though had started with considerable experience in building all my life- and getting the first solid shelter up is a huge step. Once you have the basic shelter and facilities then progress becomes easier. This project shows just how dependent most people are now upon the complex structure that society provides- shelter, electricity, water, sewage, communications. Humans are naturally stronger in communities but to have the skill and ability to be self sufficient is a worthy ambition. Once achieved you are free of the shackles. There are less and less places in the world where you can even do what you are doing- the reach of governments and regulations increasingly trap most people into the complex web of control that human societies inevitably create as a byproduct of creating the wealth and security they are supposed to be based upon. Most people are happy within the complex web of society but it is important that freethinkers can still seek and find freedom from it if we seek it. Upon working to achieve independence from the government and corporate structures that most are now enslaved to you achieve a freedom few can or will ever achieve. Long live the spirit of independence and the will to work, live and build free of the dictates of others!
