Having children takes me to places I would never have explored. Took my daughter to Blk 436 Yishun Superhero Library this afternoon.
As you can infer, the ground floor of the apartments in my country is typically empty. In fact, we have a localised term for it - void deck.
Imagine my delight when my eyes feasted on the book shelves and their wide array of books. It sure added some character to the empty space.
What’s amazing about this place is that it is a living organism. From the drawings and decorations, visitors could tell that the residents here went the extra mile to inject their personalities into it. This is a healthy dose of humanity which we won’t get from online libraries.
Befitting of an academic-obsessed nation, it even has a section that contains assessment books and guide books aimed at improving students’ results. I’m surprised that FOMO parents haven’t stripped this section clean of the resources yet.
I love expanding my horizons, even if it meant visiting an ordinary neighbourhood library!
