Bitcoin should be pure. It should serve only two functions.
- A store of value
- A medium of monetary exchange
These two functions should be protected at all costs. Everything else should be filtered as much as humanly possible, ideally at a consensus level.
Fork it if you do not like it as it is...
But even then, the past will remain the same, you cannot remove the garbage from the passed blocks...
Let us then not make the future mirror the past
Bitcoin's strength is in its simplicity. Layer 2 solutions can handle the extras without bloating the base layer.
The extra decks—Layer 2—carry passengers without weighing down the keel.
