I get why people wonder... but the more I have looked into it... the more I feel like it is fake, or rather theoretical. The fake part is the stories about it from companies. Its VERY misleading and seems to be an easy way to pump stock prices.
Don't get me wrong. There are people working on it but it very much theoretical. A science project. That said, if people want to choose to spend their time to make stuff "quantum proof" that's fine by me. I'm not even a little concerned about it.
If it turns out to be real... we will have plenty of ability to make bitcoin be bitcoin in that world.

To some extent fading it as impossible is fading the progress of human / ai advancement. I do think it’s a matter of when than if considering a combination of better algorithms / hardware could occur simultaneously.
I agree tho, adjustments can be made to make bitcoin resilient and solving for that removes one of the biggest / only “FUD” vectors

We have no evidence of it having any practical use yet. They make rigged tests that it's a story when it is faster or more effecient.
Whenever I see evidence it's a cool experiment. Not something to fear. Experience has taught me to not believe this industry
