Week 4 of the 31-Word horror-movie review contest is complete!
Another great week of horror movie micro reviews! The stackers still mostly focused on modern horror but there were a number of outliers from traditional horror that caught my eye. Also a couple of movies from this year, which is always interesting to see. Turns out Stacker News is a pretty great way to source a catalog of movies to watch!

Honorable mentions
@guerratotal's review of Silent Hill was excellent: great job highlighting the weird visual elements. I still have memories of watching this movie with a friend who had just gotten home from surgery and was on pain meds. He didn't enjoy the movie as much as I did.
@fred's review of Alien Covenant managed to convince me that the Alien franchise had more to offer. I usually find the endless sequel parade a little tiresome, but this review made Alien Covenant sound fresh and intriguing.
@0xbitcoiner shocked us all by reviewing The Thing blind ("Didn’t watch it. That’s the kind of movie I gave up on after Troll 2."
And the winner is
@billytheked's review of Gone Girl.
Want thriller? Try psychological manipulation. Murder plot unravels. Audience get played better than the people in the Missourian town setting. Will leave a pit in your stomach. Affleck, Perry, Pike, Fischer.
I remember this movie making a bit of buzz (or perhaps I remember the book doing so), and somehow I had it down as a faddish kind of thing. This review completely changed my mental model and got me very curious. It's on my list! Excellent enticement, Billy!
