If you want i can do a screenshot guide on using ShockWallet as your send/recieve on SN but honestly it's super intuitive.
Massive recognition to @k00b @ek and the SN gang for implementing SW into the wallet options, and @justin_shocknet obviously for SW.
I created a nym npub on Amethyst and saved the nsec, pasted the nsec into SW, once the node was up and running, I pasted the ndebit string into the first prompt in SN, then the Ln address and that's it!
I don't know if it actually works, so when I recieve some rewards I'll see 👀
But that isn't the main reason for my post, after playing with the setup on SN, it got me thinking about the constant conversations on Nostr about using nsec's in clients, nostrapps etc.
So has Justin effectively created a use case for the ndebit string? We use the nsec to sign events etc but could the ndebit act as the frontier gatekeeper for the npub account? The nsec stays dormant and untouched, the master key 🔑 to the account and the ndebit becomes the signing key?
If the ndebit were to become compromised, it's only affiliated with the node, which can be discarded and replaced with another, but the nsec npub is still intact.
Pretty much thinking 🤔 out loud and technically, development level i may be way off, but do you see where I'm going?
