1. The defense showed up tonight! I was worried that Mahomes and that fantastic arm of his would have their way with the Buffalo secondary but that wasn’t the case tonight. Cole Bishop the 2nd round pick out of Utah had the best game as a pro. Made play after play which led to Mahomes only completing 44% of his passes. Also Joey Bosa was a dog tonight! Mix in a few injuries on the Chief’s offensive line and Mahomes barely had any time to throw. The line was getting to him and it showed. They stopped the run and played an overall solid game. They still had some gaffs ( chiefs converted a 4th and 17th and let the Chiefs get down to the 1 yard line right before the end of the half) but they stood tall and got the job done. But they lost Hoecht who was a real difference maker and it appears he will be out the rest of the year.
2. James Cook once again was Buffalo’s best player. Another 100 yard game! They also targeted him one time in the passing game which made me happy. I am so glad the Team paid this guy. I wish the coaches would work Cook into the passing game make him a dual threat! Kincaid and Josh also had great games. But the problem still remains the bills outside WRs are invisible! It sucks because this could be a Super Bowl contender if they had one legitimate outside threat.
3. Normally I don’t say much about the coaching but it was upset with a few of the decisions. The defense took 4 timeouts tonight at home!! I don’t understand how the defense needs to take timeouts all the time. At the end to play it super conservative and miss the field goal was another decision I hated.
