Benched. They aren’t gonna play him the rest of the season and risk an injury triggering guaranteed money clauses in the contract
The Kyler era in AZ is done. His final play will be a fumbled snap off his face mask and a cartoonish blown leave vs Tennessee
He will either be traded or released this offseason. If released cardinals will eat 40M of dead money against the cap in 2026 but otherwise will be clear 2027 thereafter

Yeah. I don't think they bring him back this season.
I wonder what they could get for him in a trade and if another team would see him as a starter right away or would want to bring him in as a backup in hopes of developing as the next reclamation project. I think it is a bit tougher with Kyler to have him as a backup because with his rushing ability you would want to cater the offense around him. Say Rodgers comes back for one more year in Pittsburgh, would it make sense for them to bring in Kyler to play behind him?

His contract limits the market. Maybe cards could eat a portion or something. Trade wise I think they’d be happy with a mid round pick. Imo best case is maybe getting a 2 or 3 if a team is needy enough. Depends on how the offseason and coaching / gm shuffle goes.
Releasing and eating a year of dead money isn’t a terrible backup option tho considering Jacoby and a drafted qb would be cheap vs average qb cost
