That was an ugly game today. The Dolphins put a clown suit on the Bills today. Here are my three takeaways:
-
The offense is broken. When teams shut down the run the Bills don’t have a legitimate pass game. The wide receivers have trouble getting open in man or zone coverage. The passing offense is a lot of screens and routes underneath. The have no deep threat. Once Coleman did get open deep Josh missed him badly and the ball went out of bounds. It appears only Kincaid is the only one who can get open and he went down with hamstring. The more and more I watch this team the more I am convinced this coaching staff and general manager have done Josh an injustice. I saw a rumor the Bills offered a 2027 1st round pick for Waddle but the Dolphins wanted a 2026. If the Bills said no to that I am completely confused on what the GM is thinking building this team.

While the Dolphins did put up 30 the defense played well enough to win the game. The defense got two interceptions off Tua and did a decent job on Achane before the game got out of reach. With all the injuries and lackluster secondary play they displayed all season long the defense was not the problem. Cole Bishop was solid but not nearly as effective as he was against the Chiefs. Maxwell got a welcome to the NFL moment by Waddle but I like the kid’s talent so far. I think he is going to be a really good player for the Bills in the future. The Bosa signing is looking good as well. It’s just sad they show up on a day the offense completely didn’t show up.

From start to finish it looked like the Bills just weren’t ready. Buffalo had so much to play for today and came out flat. Some of the play calls and coaching decisions left me scratching my head. It is like teams have the book on the Bills offense now. Once they stop the run the offense looks lost. The only bright spot for today’s game was the punter.
After this team lost to Atlanta I started to call them frauds. This game shows they struggle a lot on offense. The KC game was a fluke in my opinion. The dolphins came in with an incredible game plan and Cook and Allen had no answers today. Next week the Bills are in Tampa which will not be an easy game. Regardless it is always:
