I like Toxic Bitcoin MaximalismI like Toxic Bitcoin Maximalism
There is a certain kind of Bitcoiner exemplified by people like Mircea Popescu, a kind of bitcoiner who used to be called a toxic bitcoin maximalist.
Lately, though, it seems like the people who have laid claim to the term don't care much about censorship resistance or freedom or any of the things I associate with toxic maxies. Thank you very much, Mr Michael Saylor and your stupid facking cyber hornets.
Anyhow, I'd like to think about ways to revive the classic concept of Toxic Bitcoin Maximalism: people who are in it to break the law, because the law sucks; people who are in it to have fuck-you money; people who don't care who else uses bitcoin or what they want to do with it; people who know how to hurl a savage insult.
Maybe it will happen now that treasury companies are going bust. All those newbie “bitcoiners” who pivoted to talking about treasury companies learn the hard way and become bitcoin maxis. Possible.
Isn't the pattern that most will move on to the next scam, while a small slice become toxic maxis?
I think you're spot on. I'm sure at least a percentage of them will be maxis in a year or two.
Toxicity is an immune response
We had to fight the mind virri of shitcoins vs Bitcoin, time preference vs trading, self-custody vs custodians
The virri have mutated, so to has the immune response
Fake L2's vs Lightning, participation vs apathy, collateral vs equity

Better find a new definition, because today bitcoin toxic maximalists are no maximalists, nor toxic, and probably not eve bitcoiners. Like the term cypherpunks, these terms define something specific in a determinate period in time. That time has ended, and anything else outside that period simply become marketing propaganda to attract those that missed the train when the terms were coined.
Nice poster ~Design!
I hope not. But your point about terms having currency and meaning and then becoming (perhaps inevitably) distorted when they are used beyond that time frame does make sense. Perhaps it's just a term that we'll have to abandon. But I'm not yet ready to give up the fight.
The term bitconers will be always there, I think it is important to define it properly, before it gets misunderstood (even more).
Today bitcoin is synonym of crypto for the majority of people. If a fight is needed, it would be the fight to add a proper bitcoin and bitcoiner definition in the worldwide dictionaries.
This way does not get confused with paper-bitcoiners, suitcoiners, trustcoiners, cryptophilies, retarded-traders, etc...
That dude is Romanian. It was a big buzz in Romania when he died in relation to his BTC wallet - which seems to be lost. Nice poster design!! Maybe try to lower the aggressive redness of the poster by making the BTC behind the killer guy (which needs pixel rate improvement for better contour definition) the normal colour? try to see if it works better.
oddly enough I began wiht bitcoin orange on the B behind the toxic avenger, but it was too similar to his skin and it felt like it blended in.
sadly enough I don't have a higher resolution base image to work with, so the pixel rate you see is what I'm stuck with. I could probably clean it up a little around the edges though.
happily enough "aggressive redness" is kinda what I was going for!
Dunno if there's any way to bring them back. I think they've already accepted that it ain't worth wasting energy on lost causes! Ahahah
I think the same as you, the maximalist bitcoins have to return, those who hate the shicoins and the shitty system.

truth is toxic to the barrage of wrong-think; bitcoin helps people regain the courage to speak against and act against all that is wrong in the world; it is no longer just about money the currency/token; truth is aggressive by nature - bitcoiners will continue to align with the correct way of living, help others do the same, or find out the hard way;
Freedom was the point.
Censorship resistance was the point. If banks hated it, good. If governments feared it, better.
They had “fuck‑you money,” yes. But it wasn’t about the yacht. It was about being able to walk away from anyone boss, politician, cop and not come back.
