Any relevance for Bitcoin and Bitcoiners, with similar asinine notions re: Knotzies? #1277758
(N)ice pictures, lots of ice.
I understand that people working with this have to believe it's an urgent emergency and MUST drum it up existentially in order to
a) be successful among their peers, professionally, and
b) get enough funding and attention to their hustle.
Very little respect for seeing it up front, though. I have a pretty lukewarm feel to most of the climate change nonsense, and like Bill Gates (ugh...) realize that there are more important problems around and that it isn't a big, urgent deal (#1268553).
I do hate phrasing like this in prime time magazine features:
Since 1890, Iceland’s glaciers have lost about 18 per cent of their surface area. Vatnajökull — Europe’s largest ice cap — has shrunk by more than 400 sq km, roughly the size of the Isle of Wight, and lost an estimated 150–200 cubic kilometres of ice.
“Last-chance tourists” — travellers seeking to see the glaciers before they vanish — have flooded into the country in recent years, spurred by the threat of disappearing ice.
Perspectives, please: Vatnajökull is 7,700 km2, that is twenty times the area that this humongous, massive glacier system has withdrawn in 135 years. (Also, how is 400k 18% of 8100k...? I understand nothing about climate hysteria math.)
Maybe take a chill-pill, "last-chance" idiots?
[Picture of useful idiots]:
I remember first time I went there and saw the map they so aggressively portray, showing the microscopic shrinking over two-three human lifetimes. Also, these ice sheets are MAAAA-SSSIIIIIVE. Chill
yeah, just take a chill pill. Glaciers ain't disappearing anytime soon... Bitcoin, with or without kiddy p*orn, will be fiiiiine.
