Very insightful. I was just thinking about this. Bitcoin is software a tool to help better our lives. Many of us are risking it all in hopes of having a better life and more time with doing things we love and enjoy.
But I often think what happens if a zero day bug is exploited or like you mentioned the protocol’s cryptography gets cracked it would have massive implications for so many.
But to defeat this risk is quite simple. Have food and a home and start from zero again. Move on to the next day.

I sometimes wonder if a complete digital reset wouldn’t actually be good in the long run. If you can’t communicate with people all around the world pixels on a screen 24/7, we might actually care more about the people around us.

Places like this still exist. Less screen time --> more talking, more time spent together, and people have way more energy and are generally happier.

i imagine a world where we still have a lot of new tech, like fast computers for playing games, but we somehow didn't have instant speed digital communication, and I feel like that world would actually be better...
but it's not really possible to go back. there's no possible way to enforce any agreement not to use tech that exists

This is why I enjoyed SNIRL at TABCONF so much. Meeting stackers in real life was so much fun! The fun I used to have as a teen just hanging with the bros.
