I don’t know if it’s normal, but I know people like that. I guess it could be for all kinds of reasons, we shouldn’t judge! I had a one-legged teacher who used crutches, and every now and then he’d fall, but he always refused any help.
But why need to act like a cold fish? Someone else was only trying to help and be kind. I guess most people are just used to being alone and to being told you are on your own, solve your own problem!
But in the culture where I'm used to, you offer a helping hand whenever you can, and you would be helped when you need.
