The Dow Jones closed 260 points lower on Monday, while the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq dipped almost 1.3% and 2%, respectively, as investors await the Fed’s decision and a busy week of earnings. The Fed is expected to hike rates by 25pbs, slowing its tightening pace for the second straight session at the end of its two-day policy meeting on Wednesday, amid signs that inflation in the US has begun to ease. Elsewhere, the ECB and the BoE are set to hike interest rates by 50 bps on Thursday. On the corporate front, those having earning reports due this week including Apple (-2%), Amazon (-1.6%), and Alphabet (-2.4%), Meta (3.1%) closed in the red. Meantime, Microsoft and Tesla fell 2.2% and 6.3% respectively.
