Two things jump out:
Pixar spent 3 years making commercials before its first feature film. He said it was basic work4hire, no upside at all. Before they went all in for Toy Story. Total of 10 years before they got big with TS. Meanwhile he was pouring his own money into it wild, didn’t know he gambled like that.
Interesting Steve understood that content sits above technology. Never heard him say that before, he obviously didn’t buy Pixar for its product, sounds like he bought into a story and built an environment where the best creatives could thrive.
At this age sounds like tech was just the tool, and creation was the point. 💫
