Abstract:
This paper proposes an esoteric hermeneutic for interpreting the apocalyptic imagery of the Book of Revelation. Moving beyond literal and historical-critical methods, it posits that the text is a profound allegory for the internal process of spiritual transformation and self-mastery. By correlating the "seven angels" of Geoffrey Hodson's theosophical system with the seven primary chakras of Eastern tradition, the "bottomless pit," "dragon," and "thousand-year reign" described in Revelation 20:1-4 are revealed as symbolic representations of psychological and spiritual states encountered on the path to enlightenment.
