Maybe Knots isn't the answer but taking Core out of Bitcoin would be beneficial for the network.
Not upgrading your node to counter a (potentially) corrupted version of Core is not ideal if that is the only counter play.
That's basically what Knots is, isn't it?
I thought Luke was including the Core fixes but preserving the old default settings and configurability.

As I understand Knots fork Core and add some filters and also make it more configurable.
There are apparently bugs in Core so any other implementation needs to line up orwe could get an accidental chain split.
