I would like to know the opinions of other stackers.

Taking as a reference a comment left by @Scoresby (think about how much you use or depend on this wallet - “Coinos”) and taking into account that Coinos has been failing a lot lately.

Note: with the Coinos server crash yesterday morning, I noticed that they don't have social media or any way to ask what's going on with the wallet when their website is down.

So I was looking at other custodial lightning wallet options.

I wondered which of these custodial options stackers in the community use.

If you could leave your opinion on why you use the wallet you choose, it would be a great contribution.

If you use any of these options, I would like to know why you use them and what your experience has been like.

Instead of Speed, look into Rizful (NWC account or their node option). I prefer the node one. Avoid WoS as much as you can. Another nice simple one could be SatsMobi or LNVoltz. LNVoltz is a community LNbits account. Also you could use Shock Wallet, the custodial one, if you do not want to run your own Lightning Pub behind it.

But keep in mind: these are temporary solutions, do not use them as your personal wallets.

These are excellent suggestions. I have used both kinds of Rizful wallets and they are great.

I have a Rizful node with a single private channel for about a year now and never failed or closed my channel. Yes, the fees are a bit high, but is the price to use such a good service for free and no -KYC. Those servers do not run for free...

As a decoy node is perfect and I use that phat channnel also for moving/swaping amounts when I need it temporary out of my self-custodial wallets.

I use many other custodial services, but with really small amounts and mostly testing stuff.

And now with Zeus supporting cashu, you practically can add multiple mints and play with those.

Thank you very much for the recommendation. I have self-custody wallets such as Zeus and Phoenix, and obviously I am more inclined to use self-custody services. I don't have a Lightning node, I don't know if it's necessary to use this service you mention, I didn't know about Rizful, and I haven't read or seen any tutorials about this wallet before.

I'll check out your guides page to see if I like it.

Okay, I understand that these wallets are nodes inside my phone. I meant that I don't have any other type of external node for Lightning in my house. Maybe I didn't express myself correctly, so let me explain it better.

Some time ago, I used that Satmobi wallet, if I'm not mistaken. It's like a Telegram bot, right?

Genuine question: Why is anyone using any of these options, which have complete custody of your funds, when the likes of Breez and Phoenix exist? Is it just a result of marketing or ignorance/unawareness? Is it just as a proxy/middleman with extra features such as a Lightning address, and any received funds are being immediately swept/sent to another Lightning account/node? Beyond that, I can't see any reason why people are using the likes of Wallet of Satoshi when Breez is right there, easy to use, and cheap.

Using a solution that depends upon a single LSP, such as Breez or Phoenix, still has a single practical point of failure (the LSP node) for the user, as payments cannot successfully be routed to/from you without that node; but crucially, your funds are always fully in your own control (except briefly for transactions where a new channel must be opened to satisfy them), and if the LSP node never comes back online, your funds will simply return to being on-chain.

The only thing better than something like Breez is running your own node, but that comes with some meaningful barriers to entry, in particular running a machine as a server with high uptime.

Personally, I've been using Breez for a few years because it's significantly cheaper than Phoenix at the point of use. As a subscriber to Club Orange (formerly Orange Pill App), I get a Lightning address from them, so I don't need one from elsewhere. So if I had to directly answer the question of which custodial Lightning wallet I use, it would be, "Other: Club Orange, only for receiving payments via Lightning address." If I were a Strike customer, I would probably use the Lightning address that they provide.

I intend to run my own Lightning node (probably CLN) soon and then use it from my phone via BitBanana, but it's on the backlog of other homelab things that I want/need to do.

Thank you for taking the time to write your response. And you are absolutely right that we often use these tools out of ignorance or unfamiliarity with other full custody tools. This rabbit hole (Bitcoin + Lightning) is quite extensive, so we just have to keep learning and searching for the best options to be sovereign over our SATS. Thank you again. 🤝🤠

the practicality of Blink Wallet is clear wen traveling to a region where people use Blink Wallet a lot - loading it one time will make the Blink-to-Blink payments free and instant, since digits are shuffled around on Blink custodial ledger;

Walletano works, but payments have failed a lot for me, plus there's an issue with migration since it's linked to the browser fingerprint; WoS may as well be CoinBase-owned as far as data analytics go; not sure about Speed wallet infrastructure;
