That's not an obscure skill. Good shovel work can solve a lot of landscaping problems really fast. I've seen it with pros who know the right end of a dirt blade.

I'm a pretty excellent at bagging groceries.
Also forgetting media - movies, tv shows, books. I don't completely forget them. It's more like I forget how to retrieve the memory until enough context is provided. Quite a few times I've been halfway through a movie only to realize I've already seen it because I can predict what happens a little too accurately.

Is it confined to groceries or does it transfer to other forms of packing?
reply

I was a professional grocery bagger as a teenager and I became quite good at it, too (what an absurd statement, professional grocery bagger).
It pains me when someone bags my groceries horribly now

I'm pretty good at not finishing shows I stop enjoying. Some people feel the need to stick with it to the end. Not me. As soon as I get bored of it, it's very easy for me to just stop and not care anymore.

It’s been a long time so I don’t really remember, but I think I just didn’t really like how the show turned and I wasn’t enjoying it any more so I just decided to stop. I feel like it became too over the top or gruesome or something, maybe?

I am absurdly good at not watching whatever new show "everyone" is obsessed with. Granted, this actually doesn't happen much anymore but still. I think social pressure doesn't affect me in the ways it does others. Or maybe I just don't care.
I remember blowing people's minds when they found out I hadn't seen Breaking Bad. I have now, but no one cares now. Still haven't seen the Wire or The Sopranos. I'm sure they are fine shows. Just missed them and had no time or interest when they were coming out.
Talk about a useless talent.

I would get "You haven't seen x" so often that I started remembering to do this back to these people. I would mention some obscure show that I like that was cancelled after one season and act shocked that they hadn't seen it.

I remember going out to dinner with clients and our consulting team and they were all talking about some show. One of them asked what show I was into right now. This was around 2016 and my honest answer was Russian Dashcam footage on YouTube. That got some reactions and I immediately knew the people I would click with.

There's this weird thing when watching F1 with other people.
About a third to half of the time when I say something about the race (eg. "looks like XYZ's tyres are starting to fall off a cliff"), one of the commentators will repeat that exact thing about 10-20 seconds later. Often verbatim.
My family used to give me funny looks when I was watching as a kid. By now, my wife got so used to it, she just chuckles.

I’m really good at remembering details about people, basically anything they share with me I listen and retain. Sometimes I find them repeating the same stories to me only for me to kindly interject and remind them that they’ve told me this before.

I have the audio version of a person that never forgets a face. I never forget a voice. I can recognize most actors by voice alone and many people in my industry as well. This has translated to being able to tell AI from real voices pretty consistently.
I'm sure I can be fooled. Especially by someone that is good with changing their voice but it's a weird ability that I didn't realize I had for a long time.

Not obscure but I have a pretty good memory. I remember small details about people I meet once, then years later when we meet again (and they have completely forgotten me) I tell them.
It can be a little weird as I might come across as a detective or stalker. No, just a decent memory.
