Well, guess that they changed their mind considering the number of people requesting for it.
Definitely this will cause some trouble on small hardware. I tried to run the nostr-rs-relay on my own config and i remember the RaspPi fan having to work hard :/
But hey, people do whatever they want with their node in the end. Maybe they should have added a warning regarding the resources consumption of the app though.
Good luck to the support for handling the people that will bloat their node with this :D

On a serious note now, if I understand correctly, it's a "private" relay, for backing up the owner's notes and identity.
