I'm starting to wonder if the solution to ddos attacks on I2P and onion is to charge a small amount (msats?) to send data across these networks.

It would be great, but currently LN isn't as private as would be needed to match i2p or Tor privacy, so that would defeat the point...

I2pd is the C version of i2p which has issues that the Java version doesn’t for various technical reasons. My guess is the ransom ware attack and i2p issues are linked.

It's C++, not C. What tehnical reasons? Obviously various re-implementations might have different issues, as it's code rewritten from scratch. Programming language used is not the reason there.

C++ is in the C family. Java has built in functionality with the newsfeed and stats such that bad ips can be tamed. The C version does not. Thanks for the sats whoever gave them!

Interesting, thanks for posting. Have not been seeing any effect on my Bitcoin node with tor, i2p, and cjdns peers.
