You don't need to "adhere" to any state. By definition, being a citizen of a state, means you are the employee of that corporation state. No matter how much "libertarian" is that state or catch phrases like "Free State" will promise you.
YOU as sovereign individual are your own state. And you are free to associate with any other individual, based on a commercial contract, if you need to trade. The whole world is moving around commercial contracts, anything you do in your life is a contract.

Your human body is your own "country"/state

The Convention on the Rights and Duties of States is an international treaty signed in Montevideo, Uruguay, on December 26, 1933.
The convention establishes the definition of the State, its rights and obligations.
In Article 1 it establishes four characteristic criteria of a State that have become part of customary international law.
They have been recognized as confirmation in International Law, establishing that a State as a person of International Law must meet the following requirements:
ARTICLE 1
The State as a subject of International Law must meet the following requirements:
I. – Permanent population Your human body is the permanent population in your own country/state
II. - Determined territory Your human body is a very well determined territory
III. - Government. You are the government to yourself. The best way to govern in your own interest.
IV. - Ability to enter into relations with other States. Yes, anytime you can make a contract of collaboration with any other individual (country).
Under these guidelines, any entity that meets these criteria can be considered a sovereign state under international law, whether or not it has been recognized by other states.
ARTICLE 3
The political existence of the state is independent of its recognition by other states.
Even before being recognized, the State has the right to defend its integrity and independence.
ARTICLE 7
The recognition of the State may be express or tacit. The latter results from any act that implies the intention to recognize the new State.

All statist declarations, treaties, etc., are arbitrary and only valid amongst the actual direct consenting/contracting parties.
The pretend “representatives” have no privity of contract. That is, according to their own so-called “laws,” — “ What Is Privity of Contract? Privity of contract is a doctrine of contract law that states that contracts should not give rights or obligations to entities other than those who are parties to the contract.”
Where there is no consent, there is no legitimacy.
“Free state” is a contradiction in terms.
