Yes is possible, I've explained this into my previous guide: #1332473
A NWC service is not consuming too much battery. You also have to keep the persistent mode on for the embedded node, not only for the NWC service.
This is a good scenario for a small merchant with various Zeus POS for employees.
You create a main Zeus embedded node with NWC service into a tablet or something in your office, then create a bunch of NWC limited accounts only to receive for some Zeus POS.
Done, the employees will use those specific accounts and in this way you can manage separately each of them and have control.
Also you can see the movements they do directly in your main Zeus node.
Or to control your wife spending habits :) giving her only a limited NWC account not a full node.
NWC is really versatile! The POS systems run on the local network (wi-fi only) without needing an internet connection?

It might be needed internet if you use it with an external nostr relay, but if you use your own local nostr relay, is not needed internet, you can use a LAN IP as relay. I think there are already apps for running a simple nostr relay on a mobile.
Good observation! Will add it to my final guide.

It’d be cool if ZEUS added a basic nostr relay to work locally, without needing the internet.
reply
Yeah but this will load too much the code with not so necessary function.
I think is much better to control the nostr relay separately.
reply
That makes sense. At least ZEUS could recommend a functional and tested app (nostr relay) for this purpose.

#asknostr about a simple mobile nostr relay app that can run on a LAN too :)

Actually, we just need a nostr relay with NIP-47, I don't think we need anything else, right?
reply
yeah and Zeus already provide 3 of them to choose in the NWC settings.
maybe this one
reply
I couldn't even tell if this relay supports NIP-47
