One of my friends is getting a second job for just this reason.
Things shouldn't be this way. And the continuing devaluation of currency will soon make even the second job not enough.

Yup.
There's a difference between doing a few DoorDash deliveries on the weekend to get some extra spending money, versus doing two weekend shifts at the dollar store to help pay the rent.
I suspect BLS treats them identically.
