I'm gecko sitting for a few days for my daughter. She disappeared for three days in her habitat, which is full of hiding places. She finally reappeared this morning. My brain seeks out anxiety everywhere.

I sympathize with this pretty deeply: I have noticed a pattern in myself where whenever I resolve my current source of anxiety, I almost immediately settle on a new thing to be anxious about. Often even as I'm resolving the previous thing I was super worried about.

Exactly. I need a zen master to help me prolong the gap between anxieties. Right now it's about 10 minutes.

It’s normal for geckos to hide for long periods since they’re nocturnal and shy and need to feel safe. But if a gecko stays hidden for several days without coming out to eat or drink, it could be a sign of stress, illness, or a bad setup. It seems to me that he is missing someone! Ahaha
