No shocker here as Alphabet needs power and data centers and so bringing it inhouse does make sense. The cost is not bad at all so that only furthers the interest $4.75 billion in cash in addition to the assumption of debt.

Microsoft is trying to bring fusion to the world. The thirst for energy will be strong.
