Exactly. It's very unsettling to me that every other college student I see is going into some form of healthcare (preMed, healthcare management, nursing, physical therapy, physician-assistant, the list goes on)
ack. I guess when the output is in-line with what I want to hear, my guard goes down a little!
Bother im not putting out nonsense ..in years to come everyone is going to use ai for everything you will see much more frequency of llm outputs every where..who's gonna stop that?. I'm using it in a sensible way to get the best output and sticking to the subject. There is away to use any ai tools also you cant get such outputs without feeding the llm with right prompts..you need to learn about prompting to get the best results which I guess you know. And as ai gets into our life and daily life more who's gonna sit and type such lengthy articles manually obviously people will use tools which writes faster but you need to feed your thoughts and ideas and train the llm to get the valid output you need ...
To be fair, I genuinely did like the comment. Even if it's LLM, i think it expressed my sentiments pretty well.
GDP is often treated as a clean scorecard but it is a gross measure in every sense of the word. It mixes the outputs of building new value with the costs of simply keeping the existing machine from breaking down. Both show up as “production” even though their implications for future prosperity are radically different.
Healthcare spending is the perfect example. To the GDP ledger dollars spent fighting chronic disease look the same as dollars spent building a bridge or developing new technology. Yet the bridge expands capacity and the technology can change what is possible. The chronic disease burden simply keeps us from sliding backward faster. When healthcare dominates GDP growth it tells you the economy is running to stand still.
There is an even deeper signal here. The fact that so much of our human capital is flowing into healthcare work suggests we are crowding out the sectors that create new enjoyment and capability. A maintenance dominated economy is one that has ceded ground on prevention and innovation. It is the equivalent of a household where most spending goes to repairs and bailouts instead of tools that make life better.
