I have reasons to be hopeful because I’m raising two kids and their future is an exciting unknown that I get to shape intimately. Maybe they would have an impact on the world in ways that I would never expect.

You have been down the rabbit hole for so long, that’s why it makes sense to you. But there are many people who have resisted going down the rabbit hole in the first place. So they never have an awakening moment. It doesn’t help that in my country, Bitcoin (which is lumped together with cryptocurrency) is framed as a dangerous entity associated with scammers
I sympathize there. I think, where I live as well, there is still a stigma attached to labeling oneself a bitcoiner. I once saw someone have a viseral reactions to the thought of it -- I guess they can have fun playing with their real-estate and other shitcoins.
