Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard was excluded from President Donald Trump’s team planning the U.S. military raid on Venezuela over the weekend, according to a report.
Operation Absolute Resolve saw Caracas hit with a series of missile strikes on Friday night before Delta Force commandos stormed a military complex to capture the country’s then-president, Nicolas Maduro, and First Lady Cilia Flores, who were subsequently taken to New York to answer narco-conspiracy charges.
An unnamed former U.S. intelligence official told the Post: “It seems pretty obvious that she was not part of this and has not been part of the inner circle for some time, if ever. She is an isolationist, and Trump is some kind of weird imperialist.”
DNI means do not include
This has been the cliche about Republicans forever. They campaign as Ron Paul and govern as Lindsey Graham.
Trump is neither
Latin America is our backyard, Monroe Doctrine is consistent with 'isolationism'
He campaigned ant the Libertarian National Convention and made Tulsi his DNI. That signaled a break from endless stream of regime change operations.
Latin America is different.
Venezuela is not Iraq or Vietnam
Do the people in Chile regret regime change that occurred in 1973?
I don't really care what they regret and Chile is not the only Latin American country that the US has overthrown.
You are welcome to like it, but it's not how Trump campaigned and it's being cheered by the Bushes and all the other neocons.
"No matter who you vote for, you're getting John McCain"
Woods' Law
That is a great saying.
Great point
😂
FAFO
A Canadian understands the Monroe Doctrine than most Americans on SN, not surprising
finally a voice of reason and humor
the pearl clutching in the comment section is vomit inducing
Western Hemisphere is not imperialism.
Monroe Doctrine has been a cornerstone of American foreign policy and one of the few bright spots.
