To be fair, I wasn't paying much attention at that time either other than knowing the 49ers weren't very good anymore. I probably only watched a couple games 49ers games a year back then. They were rarely on TV because they sucked. Haha

Those were mostly the years I had tuned out of football. No wonder I have the impression of non-stop good teams.

Undisciplined

The 49ers were pretty darn bad for 8 straight seasons between 2003-2010. They only had one .500 year and that year was 8-8. Things got better in the early 2010s for a few years when Harbaugh took over and then took a dip again for a few years until Shanahan took over. That stretch in the 2000s was pretty bleak. 46-82 during those years.
