surely they think they are doing what is best. but what does it mean to move bitcoin forward?
When it comes to an open permission less protocol it depends on the users of the network
fair enough of a statement, but when we look at the consequences of their actions, im not so sure that we see so much 'progress', for lack of a better term, for Bitcoin as we do 'progress' of their personal fiat bank accounts or BTC stacks. Let alone 'progress' towards a stronger state + fiat system. Not arguing with you, just trying to understand.

It’s the greatest open source software project since the Linux kernel.
But most of the general public is ignorant or show apathy towards it.
Most of my coworkers think I’m stupid and my community laughed at an elderly woman who got scam using bitcoin as reported by the local police.
Everyone in the room laughed and said who buys anything with bitcoin. And how can anyone get scammed by it
While they are so oblivious to being robbed every second they hold a fiat dollar.
I say all this because people are trying to build business that bridges that gap. But it will come with compromises that that is par for the course as technologies grow and get adopted.
And the time line for Bitcoin to have mass appeal and used as every day medium exchange could take another 50 to 100 years well after we are all dead.
The pressure for adoption now comes from Bitcoiners being impatient.
Don't be fooled by their words that you wish to hear. They are masters of disguise behind words.
I never heard of the Bennaim guy but the other two are trying to build businesses on bitcoin.
While they might not be as hardcore as some they are doing what they think is best to move bitcoin forward.
