What do you dislike about capitalism and what do you like about bitcoin?
Maybe you're confusing the word capitalism with some of the unjust s*** going on in the world today

What I dislike about capitalism is that agreements and rules often exist only for a small group of people. Power, access, and privileges are concentrated, and most people have no real say. The rules are bendable if you’re strong enough or rich enough.

What I like about Bitcoin is exactly the opposite. It’s a neutral system built on consensus. Agreements are not for a few they are for everyone. Rules are clear, transparent, and apply equally. No one can print more, censor transactions, or bend the system. Bitcoin shows how a community can function based on trust, responsibility, and respect for shared rules, not on power or privilege. Work itself has to exist and over time its value should grow, not be exploited. That is why Bitcoin is real money.

In that sense, Bitcoin is a tool for education too. It teaches us how people can organize themselves fairly, hold each other accountable, and create value together. That’s why it’s not just money it’s a lesson in what human cooperation can look like when rules matter.

Do you think this is gonna be different in any non-capitalist system though?

I see that here. In the Bitcoin community. That’s why I’m here. Because I see self-organized groups working in the common interest, giving and contributing for everyone, and in return they receive sats.
For me, that’s enough, but it’s not capitalism. It’s simply an equal space to contribute to the community, with rewards according to merit. That’s it.

And yet, most of us here are "capitalists" (i think it's fair to say that, even though I don't like the word.)

My point is, I don't think your actual beef is with capitalism per se.

reply

We earn Bitcoin as a reward because we help the community function and progress, not for the sake of the tip itself. That’s the point. At least, that’s how I see it.

I’m an artist, and as a creator I make things not for sats, but because I want to leave something for society that people may enjoy tomorrow or not. I focus on contributing. If I happen to receive sound money in return, even better.

But I’m not guided by a capitalist narrative of “I need to earn more.” That’s the point.
If that’s not the case, maybe I’m wrong. Then we could say that I’m just angry at the world.

reply

I just think you have a wrong understanding of "capitalism".

Capitalism doesn't create greedy people. There are greedy people in all societies and systems. "I need to earn more" is not a "capitalist" narrative.

reply

okay, thanks for your time.

reply

I suppose I wasn't able to convince you of anything. That makes me sad, because I sense that you are rightfully angry at the state of the world, but you misdiagnose the problem and apply a simple label to it, which also makes you think that the solution is simpler than it is.

reply

I know it’s not simple. I attribute the state of the world to the fiat system as the culprit. No one needs to convince me of anything. Everyone sees Bitcoin in their own way, but it works the same for everyone. For me, it is money, and that’s it. How I acquire it is up to me.

In that sense, striving for some ideal capitalism through Bitcoin in today’s world is anything but simple. But at the end of the day, Bitcoin also teaches us that it’s up to us how we use the freedom it offers. I know. I will Orange Pill people because I want to open doors to freedom for them not with the goal of building the value of my own stack.
