Given that there really is no actual traction in Congress to do anything about prediction markets I do not see the CFTC going through with this. Really all sports and players have solid and reasonable concerns about them and we have seen the stories of the harassment and threats against players who fail to perform but that does not justify unilateral action by the Federal Government.

The Supreme Court's ruling on gambling made these markets legal years ago and since Congress has not passed any new legislation to handle them I do not see what legal justification the CFTC could even try to use to uphold a suspension.

I do think it makes sense for markets on the transfer portal to not be permitted.

Agreed the companies should prohibit those but I dont think the CFTC really has an angel without new legislation from Congress.
