This is part of the No Trust November experiment.
Boosts count the same as zaps and items are purely ranked by how many sats they received (net of zaps minus downzaps).

It's aimed at making things clearer - if you understand how zaps work, you understand how boost works now. We're noticing a lot of folks using it to signal I want to guarantee a minimum amount of visibility for this thing I'm sharing.

I just read both of those posts and totally get it.
The way we figure it: bitcoin, and especially lightning, is confusing enough. Anywhere bitcoin can make something more transparent, we should use it that way. Then, maybe someday, on net, SN can be more transparent and easier to use than a comparable forum.
